  1. I love the town of St. Andrews. The streets, the shops, the Cathedral, the gardens, the people, and of course the golf.

Congrats on such a great piece. Truly amazing. Iona nicely done and your pup is a keeper - so well behaved

In just a couple of days, the world's best will arrive at St. Andrews for the 150th anniversary of the Open Championship with hopes of etching their name in the long line of history that the Old Course holds.

But before the Claret Jug is hoisted on the historic 18th, we wanted to celebrate the monumental return to the Old Course by taking a deeper look at the common thread that runs throughout the entire city - the love for the game.

"You are so old you knew old Tom Morris but when you knew him you just called him Tom." Spent a bundle on drinks and cigars at the jigger in. Trip of a life time!

One of the biggest thrills of my life to tee it up on the first tee. By the way, I hit a nice low draw short of the bern.

The one regret I have in my life in golf is that I've not played the Old Course. I visited St. Andrews with my wife and my parents in 1969, spending many an hour in the golf shops and the pubs. One the town and it is just imbued with history, not just of golf, but primarily golf. But I just did not have the time to play during that visit.
  7. We went in 2016 just before my 58th BD... A bucket list dream come true that I would like to do once more at least! The Old Course, St. Andrews the town, Dunvegans, Cromars - all wonderful!

This is great, thank you! My family and I are heading to Edinburg today and will be at St. Andrews on Saturday 7/16 for the tournament. To say I’m excited is an understatement. Hoping to see some Team Titleist. It’s also been my lifelong dream to watch Tiger live and there is no place I’d want to see him then on the old course. He better make the cut, lol! #bucketlist

Well-done video! I am looking forward to the Open Championship this week and the opportunity to play The Old Course in July 2023!
  10. Iona, Thank you for showing those of us who will never have a chance to see St. Andrews the town. It was very well done. Ron

Always a pleasure to follow Iona
  12. Whilst a student at St Andrews, I worked at the Scores hotel in 1964. Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus were served breakfast by me each morning. It was the first time I had anyone ask for “Two eggs sunny side please”
Tony Lima won, with Jack coming second. It was sunny then, just as it is now. The video brings back happy memories.

Great story by Iona--and her pup! What a magical place it seems. Thanks for sharing it Emily.

Definitely one of the best golf courses I’ve had the pleasure of playing. ️‍♂️
  15. My grandparents have played the old course. This was probably 25 years ago but I still have the Old Course bag tag they gave me. I hope I can eventually get there to play it as well.

Wow. I recall watching “Moneyball” years ago and Brad Pitt says: “It’s hard not to be romantic about baseball.” Well… that applies here, can’t wait to get there. Phenomenal video!
