Played the AVX for most of this year and wound up playing the Tour Speed the last couple of rounds and Adaptive tournaments. Just as long as the AVX's but they feel more firm coming off the face to me. I felt like I was hitting marshmellows...

What one did you like around the green, or long irons into the green?

I love the Pro V1. Tiger is the GOAT. Titleist is the best.
  4. For right now--AVX. As for GOATs:

    Tiger
    Kapalua Plantation Course
    Coca-Cola
    Muhammed Ali
    Rolling Stones
    "The Right Stuff"
    Henry Aaron
    Babe Zaharias
    Frank Sinatra
    and of course.....Titleist
  5. I've been playing the 1x last year and and half to give them a serious try. With my higher bal flight I ended up going back to the X. I just love the feel of them. I haven't had an opportunity to try any of the left dash or dot balls yet. We did get some prototype balls at the TT event that I'm excited to put into play. They asked us to give them a try at the event but I want to use them at my home club so I can really give them a good judgement. For me today though the pro-v1 is my ball of choice.

I used the ProV1 for years. Hit an X recently and loved the flight a lot better. Switched and couldn't be happier.

Guess when we test the new balls coming out, the debate will continue. Heard the new Prov1 may be a bit longer from one of our TT Ambassadors after playing one of the protos four rounds. Guess it is all in what your want in a golf ball. Both are exceptional golf balls. Cannot wait to try them.

I played Streamsong Black using the ProV1 for the first 9 holes and ProV1x for the last 9 holes. Seemed very similar to the last version but without seriously testing the old against the new, its hard to tell. I trust the great team at Titleist has done everything possible to make my new ProV1x better than before. Heck, I had 2 birdies that day so they can't be too bad. Now I just need to finish off those older ones and enjoy this new model.

Hmmmmm..... GOAT's and golf balls you say??

Ball - Yellow ProV1. I was unfortunately not fast enough to purchase a dozen of the ProV1 left dot, so I am truly hoping that returns for us low launch, low spin folks.

    As for GOAT's....

    Drink - Green tea/water
Beet - Bud Light (yeah I know I'm a wuss)
Golfer - Tiger Woods. Not because of his record, but because he is the only golfer I have seen that can use the score board as intimidation for other players. When he would make a Sunday charge it was like watching an immovable force part water.
    Band - Metallica

I have tested the AVX and tried the V1, but in the end preferred the ball flight and firmness of the V1X. Having learned the game of golf long ago playing very firm golf balls, which was what I could afford at the time, that are more like rocks compared to today's models, I still prefer firmer golf balls with spin around the greens.

    GOATS/Favorites:
    Coke
    Larry Bird
    Nolan Ryan
Jack (but having watch all of Tiger's career, he's a close second - and Payne will always be my fave. RIP)
    Dale Earnhardt
    George Strait
Too many great rock bands to pick 1.

  13. I love my ProV1X but I am know to pul out the AVX on some courses.
  14. I like both, but prefer the X. I like the higher flight and firmer feel. I could probably play either, and my score would be the same.
  15. Left dash all day over the standard x. Just spins less while keeping the high flight that I like. Still good around greens even with it being a firmer ball and I love the feel of it off the putter.

    Hey Dale,
Great post, loved reading all the responses, so I’ll add mine.

GOATS: Hogan (Tiger a close second),Tom Cruise, George Strait, Steelers, Michael Jordan and the ‘96 Bulls

BALL: Hands down the Pro V1, tried them all and played the V1x for awhile, but found it to be too spinny for my swing.

I’ve played the V1 and V1X but haven’t tried the left dash or AVX but suspect I would like them just as much. I’ve played other brands but never get the consistency in the short game and the balls are magic on the flat stick. It’s amazing how looking down at a ball you have confidence in relaxes you and makes the game even more enjoyable.

Gimme Tiger, Stones, New Kids On The Block, Coke, MJ and Steelers, with all do respect to the other options. As for the GOAT ball, man, do I ever miss the balata 100 days, but the ProV1 has been killer for me since getting back into the game. Used to play the 1X but found it spun a little too much for my liking now. New 7 iron was averaging 7.8k with the 1X and everything seemed a little floaty.

I prefer the Pro V1 but have certainly tried the V1X and AVX and had good results as well. Like to try to keep the ball lower in general so tend to gravitate to the V1.
  21. Love the Pro V, but with the fall winds that Chicago has been having currently, surprisingly have found the AVX to be the ball of choice. So going forward bag will have sleeves of both.
  22. I’ve been playing the ProV1x for several years, and just love that ball. I’ll admit I bought a dozen left dash, and was very impressed.
