While I have voted for windy conditions, I have to admit that I rarely play in the rain and do not own any rain-gear. I suspect that, properly equipped, playing in the rain might be fun.

Love the rain. Tech in all weather gear nowadays makes it even easier to be comfortable.

Way more bad things happen in the rain as opposed to wind.
  4. Call me strange, but I like playing in the wind. Most people seem to really let it get into their heads so I consider it an advantage.

Too much guess work and unpredictable in windy conditions, and it really affects putting which also becomes very challenging. Wears you out on a hole* other level.

Live and play mostly in SWFL, we get numerous crazy windy days.

My 5 wood carry distance is 250yds. Last year we had a crazy windy day, hit 5 wood into a par 4, it only went 150yds and was blown another 150yds off line, even after aiming an extra 50 yds in the other direction to compensate.
  6. Too much to deal with in rain, rain gear , gloves, umbrella, keeping grips dry and keeping towel from getting soaked early. Wind is normal play with club adjustments for direction of the wind, fairly easy.

Being in Florida, I have learned to play in the wind. Often harder to play in rainy conditions trying to keep the clubs dry for each shot.

Although windy with temperatures in the 40s is not fun :-)
  9. I like playing in light rain and cool cloudy conditions; those are my ideals. Living in FL it takes and winter day here to enjoy those conditions. Let the rain stop for a little while but not clear up because I like to practice after I play.

There is nothing worse than rain blowing into your face while playing golf… NO THANKS

I would rather play in windy for 1 main reason. I have never been miserable in the wind. Yes, drained from fighting, walking in it, extra effort in trying to get the ball to carry a hazard or in position for a good shot to the green.

But rain just even lightly starts to wear on you mentally & you always have to take precautions with your equipment to make sure grips are dry enough, the ball is always wet & the dimples have water in them & there is typically less rollout from a drive. Wet rough is terrible to hit from. I could go on & on.....

Wind, just take the extra club & aim the best you can to compensate and hit the shot.

Windy all day long . Down wind with Tsr driver. Bombs! Into wind controlling flight with my MBs ,Vokey wedges and Prov1 ball.
  13. If I'm in Scotland to play golf, I expect rain so I'm prepared for it, both with good rain gear and mental attitude. If I'm on my home course, I can pass for the day. My home course can get windy but as long as it's not 50°F and 30 mph wind, it's still playable for me.

With the correct gloves, rain is better in my opinion. The wind has too many factors that affects the balls.
  15. I will take the wind every time as rain usually has thunderstorms where I play.
  16. Play in the wind any day over playing in the rain.

There are a few enjoyable things to do whilst wet but golf is not one of them.
  17. I’ve all ways found it’s easier in the wind than Rain even though I’ve Been a Caddie on the the Senior pga many Years ago! As a Low handicap Senior Golfer I have Over the years to adapt to Windy Conditions

Rainy conditions in New England tend to be cold also. Much rather just face the wind.

Due to wearing glasses I would rather play in windy conditions vs. having to continually having to wipe the rain drop from my glasses.
