Sunlight and wind as we get closer to December is more important than temperature most of the time for me. 38 degrees can feel VERY different depending on those factors!

Living in the Midwest once the temps get below 50 degrees things become tough! Snow makes it harder!!

My preference is to avoid wintry weather golf; in those instances where I can't avoid it, it's important to have the correct gear. Luckily, FJ and Kjus provide excellent gear that allows us to play the game we love without being too miserable.

Will play in the high 30's if the sun is out and no wind.

45 and windy is where we are saying probably not...... but depending on what's going on like a scheduled nine hole snow outing ie... the Frostbite Open well... here we go.

Below 60 for me. Anything that makes my hands and feet feel like ice cubes is a no go for me. Also swinging with a hoodie/ jacket is just so weird to me I feel like i make terrible swings

High tech clothing nowadays ups the comfort level in lower temps. That said, the upper 30s is my limit…particularly if windy. Tough to keep feel in the hands.

I have different standards depending on where I play. Normally below 50 would keep me away but trips to Bandon or playing in Scotland/Ireland will have me out there as long as the course is open.

I picked "below 40 degrees" but I meant "Below 50 degrees". I am from Florida, anything below 50 and I can't function.

I think wind chill temp is more important that actual temp

Since the average winter high temp around here is about 50 degrees I usually don't worry too much. That said, I have teed off when it was in the high 20's. As said before though, sunny and no wind is required for me to do that. Best thing is the course is usually empty.

Has to do more with the wind chill than the actual temperature. Live on the east coast in lovely lowcountry of S Carolina (Mt Pleasant, but normally play golf in Charleston). Between FootJoy outwear and Titleist winter products I can handle most cold days. FJ gives me the ability to layer up for all conditions and those Titleist pom poms, neck warmers and cart mitts keep my hands warm when I throw in those handwarmer packs from the sporting goods stores. Even have a pair of the older FJ rain boots that are lined. The new models are called the Storm Walkers. Those are awesome. Have never leaked during tidal flooding and kept my feet dry, warm and the cleats give you great traction. Yeah, I look like a walking billboard for FJ and Titleist. During our four weeks of winter, I stay warm and comfy.

I am pretty much in the camp with GMaynard. Chill Temperature has a lot to do with it. Wind can be the determining factor for me when it gets below 50 degrees

I'll golf at just about any temperature above freezing. I ride bicycles when it's in the 20's so golfing in the 30's isn't too bad.

I just joined a new club this fall, and I am definitely going to be playing further into the fall season here in New York than I ever have. My club also has an indoor simulator, but I’ll keep it out on the course for as long as I can, and I just started to stock up on winter gear with a new Titleist winter Pom-pom hat!

Below 50... As long as I have a been and hand warners Im goes.. Proper (FJ) layering is key as well!

I can handle under 50 teeing off, but it better be getting warmer later in the round!

I agree with GMaynard. The real issue is the wind chill.

As I get older, below 50° enough to effect my performance, but I'll play it unless it's below 40° I don't mind practicing on the sim when weather is too cold.
