With a short season living in Canada, we take advantage of most days that there is no snow on the ground

Today is the prime example. At the Mizzou football game, it was 60 degrees but direct Sun and no wind, it was the warmest 60 degrees I have felt. The same happens with other temperatures. I remember days when it has been single digits but warms up to mid/high 30’s with straight sun and no wind and I’m outside in summer clothes lol. Relative to perspective

Fortunately for me living in Central Florida we get to play “year-round” so 50* is about as cold as I play. Below 50 we will wait till tomorrow or the next day and try again!

Playing on the coast of NC, below 50 if there is no sun or if the wind is blowing, I'm probably not going out unless it is an MGA event at my club. Many times, we have all 4 seasons during a round, so you never know what weather may change to. Should have been a meteorologist so I could be wrong 80% of the time and still have a job.

Definately play in layers to be able to add or take off depending on the change.

If the course is open, we play. The key is walking and proper clothing. Here in the Acushnet area most courses stay open. Have plenty of choices with usually great walking winter rates, Mostly stay at my membership course, Bay Pointe (Onset, Ma). Close to Buzzards Bay, tends to miss the brunt of snow.

It is never too cold for golf.

I'm not too worried about the temperature, it's the feels like temp with the wind that bothers me. But thanks to FJ I can continue to play when the temp drops as long as I layer up. I play all year long as long as there isn't any snow on the ground & the courses are open.

Way back when playing high school golf, our season was in the fall in PA. The more important the matches got, the colder it became, not to mention darkness.
We played several times with flurries flying. The darkness was interesting, one fond memory was a drop hole on the 18th at one of the courses we played. The coaches and some others moved their cars to shine light on the green. Miss the green and tough luck, those were the days, getting out of school at noon to go play 18.

Very dependent on the weather. If it’s windy I’ll stay inside. No need to fight the elements and my swing. That being said a colder day with little to no wind means an open course where I can take my time and work on shots. If I’m not happy with a shot I can try it again. However, below 40 you start wondering how much good you’re doing out there. I’ll never forget having to get colored balls for high school practice because of the light layer of snow on the course.

Other than spending the month or February in Florida. We try to play all winter long her on Cape Cod as the course stays open as long as there is no snow.
Walk ,layer up and hope for the sun to be shinning and the wind to be calm.
