5 yards closer to the hole, of course.

I feel like I am long enough off the tee (for the tee boxes I play), but being 5 years closer to the hole would definitely help lower my scores.
  3. All day closer
  4. No question… 5' closer to the pin!! That almost guarantees to pick up a stroke.
At 5 yards longer off the tee, you wouldn’t necessarily gain a stroke.

The short game is key to lower scores.

At least for me, 5 yards longer is about 1/2 club but 5 feet closer X 18 holes makes a big difference. 2 or 3 more 1-putts per round makes a difference!

I would prefer to be 5 feet closer every time. Five yards off the tee is not that much most of the time.

At 76+ yrs old, lost distance off the tee is a concern, but my accuracy off the tee is still good. Playing the Sr tees (6000 -6300yds) helps a lot, and my drives still average about 220-230yds, so I usually have mid to short irons into par 3s & 4s, and an occasional Eagle putt on some par 5s, So I’ll take the 5’ closer every time.. that gives me a great chance to shoot my age or better on a good day️‍♂️.

Definitely five feet closer five yards further wouldn’t make much difference to your score
  10. Getting older - extra 5 yards off the tee helps

Surprised that the result is so overwhelmingly one way! And it's the way that I voted.

Five feet closer to the hole, hands down. For you folks you commented 5 yards closer to the hole, please read carefully, it's 5 FEET. 5 yards closer to the hole, might put you past the hole and off the green.
