    I was playing solo when i got my only hole in one so I had no one to buy drinks for. I think this tradition needs to change. Totally agree that it shouldn't cost you anything .

    I'm normally one to side with history and tradition, but this one never resonated with me. I worked at a couple of golf courses in my younger days in food and beverage, I never had a chance to see this first hand. Of course I was young and poor student, but even then I thought this was a bit of an odd tradition.
