  1. Aloha Mr Vokey,
I'm currently playing your SM 7, 60* and 54*. I have been playing your wedges for the last 8 years.
Can you me the advantages of dropping my stock gap (50*) and pitching wedges (45*) and using your Vokey wedges?

    Thank you!

Mr Vokey, why don’t you forge your wedges?
  3. I would like new wedges but not sure how to find the best fit. I have just off the shelf Cleveland Wedges now and have liked them. Just time for an upgrade. I currently have a 52, 56 and 60 degree wedge. rarely use the 60 degree. Question is how to find the best fit?

    Mr. Vokey,

I currently play SM6 wedges and I have been told there isn't a big difference between the SM6 and the SM7 wedges. However I had a chance to hit some demo SM8 wedges and they were fantastic. They felt like they were easier to hit overall and that the weight changes made an improvement in distance. I currently have a 47 degree PW and want to go with three SM8s. I was thinking that 52, 56, and 60 would be optimal. Would you agree? Also, what bounce would you recommend for Michigan playing conditions?

I am going to get fitted at soon but I would like an idea of what to look for as well. Thank you for making such a great wedge and continuing to improve it with each new version.

I purchased the SM7 wedges last year and added an approach/gap SM7 to replace the one with my set. I was fitted for the clubs and wanted a gap wedge that would stop the ball when I wanted it to and to run out when I needed it to. Those clubs fit the bill, what changes in this year's clubs would induce me to look at the SM8?

I am planning to be fitted for T300 irons and thinking of upgrading my SM wedges as well. Is it advisable to order the wedges with the same shafts as the irons.
  7. What is the specific thing of SM8 you are most proud of.
  8. What is the best bounce and loft for ever changing conditions? Ie. may play one course with short, packed grass and then a little longer, wet/dry the next round?

The wait is over. SM8 is officially available in golf shops!

Talk about a hot start. SM8 has been the worst kept secret with record-setting adoption on the PGA TOUR, European Tour, and Korn Ferry. In its first 12 TOUR events, SM8 has already brought home 7 titles. 48% of the wedges at this week’s Bay Hill Invitational are Vokey Design and last week 57% of wedges in play at the Honda Classic were Vokey, including the winner: Sungjae Im.

So what exactly is this secret sauce that has SM8 making so much noise on tours? For starters, you can find a lot of great SM8 insights on the Vokey website. But what better way to learn about SM8 than asking the man himself?

What is the secret to the SM8 that makes them superior to the SM7? I am currently
playing a 4 wedge set of SM7 47, 50, 54 & 58 that I was fitted for and have been more than pleased with the performance of the clubs. I’m now wanting to upgrade but want to know the advantages
  10. Bob,

    Mr. Vokey,

Why did you choose to do away with the M Grind in the 54* lofts, if this the "Most Versatile" grind?

    Mr. Vokey,
Before Christmas I bought Slate Blue SM7 wedges on sale (have not used them yet here in Colorado). How are the SM8 wedges so much better? After all, the pros did great with the SM7s. Jim

    Hey Bob:

Besides getting feedback from the pros for game improvement, do you also get feedback from the regular golfer and incorporate that information in designing new wedges?
  14. Good Morning Mr. Vokey,
If?? You could only take two of your wedges in your bag, for your next round, which two wedges would you take?

I play on tight lie conditions. I like to have a 50,56, and 60 degree wedges. Sand is fairly firm. What bounce would you recommend on these wedges?

    Thank you,

The wedges look awesome Bob! What changes if any did you make to the grooves?

  17. How many different wedges should I carry in my bag? I am an avid golfer with an 11.5 handicap with Pinehurst as my home course. I currently carry a 56 cleveland sandwedge and a 52 TM gap wedge. Both are in desperate need of replacement and I want more options in my bag but I don't know what to look for to fit my game. Would love your professional opinion before I go get fit. Thank you!
  18. Hi Mr Vokey,

For me, I’m curious what the benefit of switching out my set pitching wedge for a vokey SM8 pitching wedge. All my wedges beyond the P are vokey 7’s. And strongly inclined to pull a vokey into the pitching wedge slot as well.

    Any thoughts?

Appreciate the insight and epic wedges!

If i'm moving from SM7 to SM8 will I see any increase in distance for the same lofts bounce and grind? #Gapping
  20. As a 65 year old senior player with a 14 handicap, what specifications would you choose for your world-famous Vokey wedges for me? I am 6 feet tall, weigh 205 pounds and play course in South Florida. I purchased my first set of your wedges about 15 years ago. Thanks!
