  1. Hey Fellas! First off, THANK YOU! Secondly, I have been wondering for a long time if the grind on the bottom of my wedge can have an impact on spin. I live in Ohio and it's usually wet to some extent so I play wedges with a lot of bounce. Lately I've felt that I am not generating the spin I am looking for. Can bounce impact this? I do keep my grooves clean and purchase new wedges fairly regularly.
  2. Hi Jason, the grind does not really influence spin rate (hopefully that part of the club is not contacting the ball!! hahaha) but moisture and turf firmness does. I suspect that moisture is getting trapped between the club face and the ball and therefore the friction is changing, allowing the ball to slide rather than grip the face of the wedge.

You’re in some greenside rough and need to chip on but you know the rough will snag your club. How do you decide whether to open up the club face using the bounce to pop the ball up and out or to put the toe of the club down and stand closer to the ball to chip it on?

Does the grind on the wedge matter more for full shots VS half shots?
  6. As we approach the colder months in places like New England, it will be significantly harder to work on the short game outdoors. What are some good options for working on your short game when experiencing or simulating real turf interaction is difficult or impossible?
  7. What considerations should I be making in regards to loft and bounce of my wedges when playing in hard versus soft sand shots?
  8. Do you recommend owning a variety of low and high bounce wedges for different courses?
  9. On a non-full wedge shot should you take a full swing but slower or take a shorter swing with normal speed?

How often does one need to change out wedges
  11. Would it be more beneficial to focus on learning a stock couple of shots and setup to play from general standard basic lies such as long rough or tight dry fairways, or should I focus on how to manipulate the club for each specific scenario—e.g. ball sunk in deep rough short sided or maybe tight dry lie downhill slope 75 yds to a back pin, etc?

    Thanks!

I often end up practicing 1/2 and 3/4 wedge shots off from a hitting mat; how does that relate to hitting off from grass? I know that spin and launch angle can be different off from the mat. Is there specific drills for hitting off from a mat that translates well to grass?
I enjoyed the webinar as well.
    Thanks

The difference between the chunk and run and the spinning bunker shot that checks up, can that be impacted by bounce?

How do a high haddicapper like my self, can best utilize the bounce to help get the ball out of the rough and the sand?
How does the bounce actually affects a golf shot?
