  1. I did the online ball fitting and My Titleist fitter did a great job listening and we talked about the my importance of “feel” around the green. So my vote is for feel.

Also, fitter recommended ProV1 left dash and AVX. I’ve used ProV1 for many years but after testing out the AVX I’m converting. My driver spin #’s have improved and I don’t feel like I sacrificed anything around the greens either. Overall a great online ball fitting experience and kudos to your team!
  2. I think spin is important to keep ball near the hole. Feels important but need the have ball react around the hole.

"Feel" is most important to me. My irons/wedges are getting old so I believe the new equipment will solve the "spin" concern. I am hoping Titleist will offer the next generation MB irons and TVD wedges soon.

I have to go with feel over spin. If I get the right feel with a ball, I'm confident I will get the spin I need.
  5. For years I’ve played Titeist balls loving them but as they have increased in price thru the years I’ve bounced around and tried lots of balls. I’m playing the Bridgestone Tour B RXS right now but bounce back and forth with the Pro V1. The Pro V1 feels harder to me but I seem to be able to spin it more, a slight adjustment that I can live with. Right now feel and the price are options I’ll have to lean too…..for me balls are way to expensive. I typically play a ball a round, sometimes two balls. I save these balls to practice with. I don’t mean for this to bash Titleist…..I love my wedges, putter, etc!
  6. Feel, every time. Many ways to control spin, but if the feel is not there, neither is the confidence in the shot.

As I "sweep" the ball rather than try to impart spin, feel is the important factor. I prefer the ProV1 for that reason. It just feels better coming off the club face. That includes the putter.

Spin is important on the longer wedge shots and bunker shots, but on chips and putts I want feel.

I would prefer more spin, with feel a close second. If you have more feel than spin, the results you're trying to get won't be as good unless you have more spin than feel. That's why I prefer more spin with feel being close second.

    Hey Team Titleist,

It's no secret that both feel and spin are important in a golf ball, especially when you're around the green.

So who better to ask than the Team Titleist community for what they look for in their golf ball when they need an up and down to keep their round going.

Let us know your reasoning below and comment with what golf ball model you're currently playing!

To me, the two go hand in hand - if I like the feel of the ball then I can get the amount of spin I’m looking for as needed. Having good feel is a confidence booster for one’s shoemaking as well.

From driving to putting the feel of a golf ball is the most important to me.

I feel like only a very good player even knows how to use spin but even the average player has a feel that they like or hope to duplicate with shots around the green. Left dash prov1x for me
  13. Luv feel but need that check please!

Both are definitely important, but for my game, feel has the edge. I switched from V1 to AVX because I like the lower ball flight of the AVX with my swing. Spin is less around the green, but all the “feel” of the V1 and I’ve managed fine.
  15. Thanks for asking.

I find that the two are closely correlated but I focus on feel. If I get the right swing I get a good feel and the spin is there.
  17. Feel is always what you want to feel confident with when you have a club in hand.

Spin, spin and more spin please! I love throwin' the high rippers at pins.

You can always reduce spin on the ball by the type of swing the player performs (out-to-in swing path (cut) will increase spin, in-to-out swing path (draw) will reduce spin on the ball (more distance).

A harder golf ball will naturally go further...a softer golf ball will spin more...reducing distance. So you must decide what your edge is going to be.

So give me the spin and I'll take it off.

I'm with Mike M. Spin is important, but feel by far is the most important. If you can't get the feel you want, then nothing else matters
  20. To borrow from The Who, see me, feeeel me! Feel is much more important to me as I am not a big spinner of the ball. I would rather hit it to the distance and have it stop. I know this doesn't give me a much distance, but if I hit it on the number, I don't have to worry about it spinning 20 feet away.
