  1. Went out yesterday and played the test Red #1's. Definitely love the short game control and consistency off the putter. I didn't notice an increase in distance, actually seemed a bit shorter? With my irons, I liked the controlled flight and slightly less spin off of my irons. Wedges seemed to have the same amount of spin if not a touch less. My handicap is currently 0, and I hit my driver on avg. 295+. Will continue to play them until they're gone.

I played them last Saturday and also gave one to my son to play to see if we both agreed. I can't remember ever playing a better all around ball. Easily the longest ball I have hit in a long time, just explosive off the face of the club. So much so that it took me a few holes to get used to it. I was overshooting greens and blowing putts way past the hole.

Once I got used to the extra distance I was able to experience the insane bite this ball has. It felt like a Velocity off the tee but had the softness and feel around the green of a V1x.

I don't think I have had a long enough time to test the sample balls, maybe you should send me a couple fo Dozen to test!!! (wink, wink)
  3. Got my white box sleeve of Titleist Test Golf Balls last week, being that the weather has changed here in Maine I hadn't played until yesterday. Cold, wet and windy conditions and I was impressed with how the ball performed. I drove it well, the ball was good in the wind and came of each club well. Kind of reminded me of the newer cally balls in a way, wasn't as 'heavy' as the normal ProV1x and performed the same way around the greens. As others have stated it was a little 'lighter' off the putter but rolled well. All in all I'd take a dozen of them anytime.
  4. I received the test package recently and hit them this weekend with some friends, I'm a titleist user for years so you had me at "GO" with the new product ... BUT to be fair, I shared them with my foursome this past weekend at Llanerch CC in Havertown, PA . they loved the soft feel and great roll they got on the greens ( dropped 3 from outside 20 feet!)
thanks and I look forward to using them in the future.

  5. I played with the new test balls last week and really like what I saw/felt. They definitely had a more firm feel with a lower trajectory. The carry was slightly stronger than the tradition ProV1x and the flight was less aggressive regarding drawing or fading it. I felt like I had more control overall. Didn't notice much of a difference putting. The cover material seemed more durable in regards to groove scoring or scuffs but would like to play it more to verify. I also had my golf buddy play with one during our round and he had the exact same feedback (we both are scratch players). Overall, quite impressed and would like to see it into production as is.

I received 6 protoypes this spring. They only had small triangles printed on them. They reacted similar to my Pro V1x. Possibly a little longer. They worked well around the green and putted well.
  7. I had to wait almost a week before having a chance to try the Pro V1 test balls. Had an early morning round last Saturday. Weather was cool at around 43 degrees at the start, conditions were wet. First impressions were that this ball is slightly firmer feeling and goes about 1/2 a club further than I am used too. Very long off the tee. Around the greens it performed well, but seemed to spin a bit less than I am used to. Morning dew could be the culprit; definitely need to play more rounds with these. Thank you for the chance to participate. I would definitely game these golf balls.

I've played 4 rounds with ONE of mine. I have the ProV1x. These are softer for sure. Maybe the best feeling ball I've played. Especially with the irons and wedges. I feel like it may fly a bit higher. Really awesome around the greens. Love the feel and sound off the putter. The one I'm currently still testing (crazy I haven't lost one yet with the leaves and wind we've been dealing with) still looks new. Holding up better than last years. Yesterday's round was in about 15-25 mph wind gusts. My only complaint in the past with Pro V's was performance in the wind. Big improvement I believe. It held it's line all day and didn't balloon on me into it.
Nice work Titleist! Thanks for allowing me to try these out.
  9. Just tested the prototype ProV1x over the weekend, and thought the ball responded very well to all shots that one would have to hit during a round. Absolutely loved the feel of the ball off of the wedges and putter. What a great ball to play if someone whats to get better with a consistent ball flight and carry.
Glad Titleist keeps striving to make improvements and just a flat better ball. A big thanks for letting me test these balls and hope i will get to test some more in the future.

Tried the Pro V1x Test ball. Shot 74 in somewhat cold and windy conditions. Feel was good especially off the putter. Ball went the same distance off the tee with much less spin but similar trajectory. From Irons and wedges the ball seemed to bite on the greens better especially on pitch shots. I really like when the ball drops straight down and this ball did not disappoint.

Received what I think were 3 Pro V1's (black number with "test"). I alternated hole by hole between the test ball and a normal pro v. They were very similar. The test ball did appear to spin a little more - slightly more movement side to side. On full shots, the test ball seemed to be slightly longer (by a yard or two). Putting felt exactly the same. Durability was very good. Almost looks new after the first round.

I was able to play prototypes this weekend. I was playing in some chilly weather in Michigan, but the balls felt like a ProV1x. The cover seemed a bit tackier, but was very durable. Only had a few marks after using my U groove wedges. I felt like I got about 10 yards more on my drives. Seemed that I got the same distance off wedges and irons. Felt a touch harder off the putter, but again the weather was a bit chilly. All in all it was a "normal" positive experience playing with a Titleist ProV golf ball. Thanks for the opportunity - hope I get more chances in the future.

I used both balls in much of the same playing conditions and they both have a great feel from tee to green; you just keep making them better. Although I gained a couple of yards off tee with the PV1x, I like the feel of the PV1 for my game when I'm around the green. Both balls offer great performance, but I found the PV1 checked nicely when I needed it to on the green. Putting was soft and the ball rolled with responsive accuracy. Thanks for the opportunity to test your product; I love it!
  14. This is my first test and after only one round, I have limited analysis. As a Chrome Soft player, and Taylor Made Tour Preferred prior to those, I have limited Titleist experience upon which to base observations. More like initial reaction. Mine were black competition balls, according to the insert, and the dimple pattern looked like the Pro-V1, so I assume that is the model prototype I have. They feel fine off the putter; a little firmer than the CS, about the same as TP. I feel that they have a higher trajectory than the CS, which made them a bit shorter on some iron shots, but conversely, if playing them consistently and adjusting distance expectations, they should land softly. The only negative was that, since the wind was blowing, the higher trajectory off the driver made them more susceptible to the breeze. I teed lower to try to cheat the wind and lessen the effect. Driver distance when nailing this ball and the Chrome Soft are roughly equal in similar conditions. Taylor Made a little longer, but less feel than either. Shot 75 with the test ball, so can't complain. Thanks for allowing me to take part.
  15. What a nice surprise in the mail. I was playing a great track this weekend and broke out the new Pro V1X. I got fixed this summer for a new set of MB-T irons.
The irons are 1 to 2 clubs longer than my old irons. So, I which to the regular Pro V1, to get less carry on the irons. This new Pro V1X play like more like the Pro V1 but has a more boring shot with the driver and 3 wood. Ready like the way you can flight the ball.

I tried out the new sample balls.
They seemed a lot like the pro v one I always play.
  17. It's a great program. Always fun to receive and test new equipment before it hits the final production stage. However, I've been part of the team for 18-24 months and only received a single sleeve of balls to test. Not a complaint, would just enjoy testing more products! :)
  18. Received a test pack earlier this year. Spent two rounds trying to hit every shot possible and paying as much attention to detail as possible. I love participating and trying to add my two cents to make the best possible balls. Looking forward to receiving more balls and helping out!

Played two different sleeves of balls that were not identifiable, this summer. Which is marketing genius on behalf of TT, that way you cannot show any bias. The balls had great feel around the green. I was getting some more distance and pop with my longer clubs, especially my driver. Wedges had the ball checking up very well. Putted true and sounded real good off the tee.

Thank you TT for the opportunity to test your balls, you guys are awesome, looking forward to testing the new prototypes.
  20. Hoping that this year's test balls are on the way!! Last year when I tested I noticed less side spin off the driver which I really liked as I hit a draw....errrr....hook that with my old ball would get away from me too often. I just demo'd the 917 Driver and wow!!! Best driver Titleist has EVER made in my opinion and has me seriously considering trading out my trusty R1 and moving to Titleist!
